Currently, I am a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying public relations. Being North Carolina natives, hailing from Greensboro, my family raised me a proper, born and bred Tar Heel, and I will always bleed Carolina blue!

At UNC-CH, I also serve as a member of the Student Government Public Relations Team, which allows me to collaborate with other students pursuing careers in PR, communications, marketing and business areas while gaining valuable experience managing communication channels for the campus.

As a result of my involvement in Student Government PR, I was able to work with the UNC Build a Block team as a builder and by serving on their event planning committee. With tasks ranging from promotional work to organizing campus outreach events, I was able to get my hands dirty planning events for the organization. My favorite event was "NC Hammer for Habitat," a fundraiser for Habitat student volunteers' spring break trip to Honduras. We were able to create an amazing, cordial atmosphere by arranging performances from several a cappella groups, raffle giveaways and through a charity menu selection. During my time working with UNC Build a Block, I really found an interest in event planning that I would love to continue pursuing.

In my down time, I love to play volleyball and I enjoy going to concerts. I also love to travel every chance I get. My favorite place would have to be Venice, Italy, and I am dying to go back. I am very much into history and popular culture as well, and, my newest places of interest to visit are England, to see all things associated with Shakespeare, King Arthur, and The Beatles, and Graceland, to see all things dealing with "The King."

Largemouth has presented me with a great opportunity to increase my knowledge of public relations through hands-on experience in a PR agency. During the course of my internship, I plan on developing my professional PR writing skills far from what I have learned in the classroom. And, I am also looking forward to seeing how the event planning process is handled in a professional environment compared to what I have done with student led organizations.

I know that any knowledge I gain at Largemouth will more than benefit me for any job that I choose to pursue in the communication world. With that being said, I am more than grateful for this opportunity and I am thrilled to be working with and learning from the Largemouth team!
